Everyone who has passed their test since 1 January 1997 has to take a towing test to tow certain sizes of trailers, which includes all horse trailer outfits. Each stage of the test, the manoeuvres, and how to practise them, are described, including the test format and marking, manoeuvring-area layout, road sense, reversing, braking and coupling and uncoupling, and are supported by clear photographs and diagrams.
