About Us

Equestrian Bookfair Ltd, aka Reeth Toy and Book Shop, is a specialist equestrian and country book, toy and gift business based in North Yorkshire. Our shop in Reeth is an Aladdin's cave of all things horse, farm and country. Whether it is books, toys or gifts, we are proud to say that we have something for all ages within our shop.

We have possibly the largest display of Schleich, Bruder, Britains and Breyer toys in the North, if not the whole UK. We also have a dedicated book room with approximately 2500 different book titles. This covers fact and fiction for both adults and children, with a predominantly horse theme. We particularly specialise in new, backlisted, and signed titles.

Prior to 2020, we attended around 30 horse and agricultural shows around the UK and Ireland with our tradestand every year. We regularly held signings and book launches on our tradestand.

Equestrian Bookfair Ltd has been trading for over 30 years. Phil, company director, worked in publishing for more years than he will dare to admit. This gives him a wealth of knowledge on the titles, especially those from the publishers he worked for. When Phil took over the company, over 15 years ago, the focus was solely on books. Over the years, this has expanded to include toys and gifts too.

A relocation from Devon to the Yorkshire Dales in 2011 led to the opening of our shop. In 2017, the shop relocated a few hundred metres to larger premises, which is where we can be found today. We now have a vast range of toy and model brands in stock. We are a major UK stockist of Schleich, Breyer Horses, Britains, Bruder, Siku, Playmobil, Our Generation, Depesche and Miss Melody.

With such an array of items, our website is just a sample of our stock.

Our shop is open to visitors Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm. If you are travelling to the area especially to visit us, please do ring ahead to check opening times. We will endeavour to advertise any such closures on our homepage and on social media.
